Der Akademische Besuch Malaysia-Deutschland 2008 or known as (ABaDe'08) is an International Academic Visit Program that was organised by the THIRD LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT CENTRE FOR MODERN LANGUAGES AND HUMAN SCIENCES (CMLHS) UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PAHANG.

CMLHS

The Centre for Modern Languages and Human Sciences (CMLHS)is a hub for enhancing language, communication and human development skills for students as well as for external clients. To support the aim of UMP in producing graduates who excel in all effective elements, CMLHS plays a significant role in training the students in the Soft Skills.

ABaDe'08 - A Reality....!

Praise be to Allah SWT for His mercy, the Malaysia-Germany Academic Visit 2008 or Der Akademische Besuch Malaysia-Deutschland 2008 (Abade’08) becomes a reality. This programme that will be scheduled from 27 Jun 2008 to 6th July 2008 is organized by Foreign Languages Department, Centre for Modern Languages and Human Sciences (CMLHS), University Malaysia Pahang (UMP) in collaboration with Students Affairs Department and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

Abade’08 is organized with the aim to learn the culture of the Germany by participating in Franco German Festival in Saarbrucken, Frankfurt and Hanover. Secondly, to serve as a platform for participants of ABaDe’08 in sharing various aspects of knowledge especially soft skills and education which are being practiced by companies that we are going to visit such as Pelikan, Volkswagen and BASF. Third, to explore the advanced technology applied from the industries. Fourth, to expose participants of ABaDe’08 with the learning method in studying German language to non-native speakers and finally to build collaboration between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and industries that have been mentioned earlier.

The key aspects of the programme are to exchange ideas between students from Universiti Malaysia Pahang with students and industries from Germany in terms of knowledge, application of technology, current innovation and research development. Among other effort in the programme, we will also be highlighting Pahang as one of tourist attractions in Malaysia. The video that Tourism Malaysia provided will be presented in respective industries and universities we’ll be visiting.

Concerning ABaDe’08 team, I think that there is one point I need to highlight. It is the positive attitudes and positive thinking of the members have in them. The teamwork that the team members shown reminds me of the Nickelodeon Cartoon channel; Wonder Pets. The characters such as Linny the Guinea Pig, Turtle Tuck, and Ming Ming Duckling always motivate their team by saying; What’s gonna work, Team Work! Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to convey my sincere thanks to my advisors and also my beloved team members. Without your support and dedication, this programme will surely not be a successful one.

I also would like to take this opportunity to convey my gratuitous appreciation and thanks to our main sponsors; Kerajaan Negeri Pahang and our co-sponsor, BASF Petronas, Pelikan, Hi-Tech Padu, Amanah Saham Pahang, Yayasan Pahang, Perunding Hashim & NEH, Ahmad Zaki Sdn. Bhd., Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Islam Sibu and all support sponsors. Thank you for all contributions that make this programme a successful one.

One Step Closer….Go For It..!!ABaDe’08.

Assalammualaikum and very good day….

It had been a long journey before our team had been one step closer to the ABaDe’08 Program (Der Akademische Besuch Malaysia-Deutchland 2008) which had been organized by Centre for Modern Languages & Human Sciences (CMLHS).

Today, our team had to be ready to arrange the preparation for the Opening Ceremony of this visit on 26th June 2008.Due to the several problems that cause the delay of this program, we had to re-arrange all the tentative program. The objective of this program is to to know the culture of German society and to promote Malaysian multi racial society to them and the strength of the German in interpersonal skills this helped them develop their country strong in technology.

Apart from that, this program objective is to introduce UMP as one of a higher institution which able to produce new graduate which have high caliber, able to face challenges and global standard.

It will no successful for us if we didn’t get the support from a few company that are willing to give sponsorship to us in other to assist us in term of the budget of this visit. In this visit, a few industrial places will be our destination such as Volkswagen Factory at Wolfsburg, Mercedes-Benz’s Factory at Stuttgart,BASF SE in Ludwigshafen, Pelikan AG ,University of Manheim and others places.
